Eligibility
To be eligible for Head Start Services, a child must be at least three years old by December 2nd or infant or toddler up-to thirty-six months old, or a child born to Early Head Start enrolled expectant mother. 90-percent of the children in the program are from low-income families and reside within the CCFS HS/EHS service area. Up to 10% of the children come from families who exceed the low income guidelines, but meet the program~s criteria for the greatest need category. To qualify for services, families must verify income by presenting the following: Individual Income Tax Form 1040, W-2 Forms, pay stubs, pay envelopes, or documentation showing current status as recipients of Public Assistance.
Transportation
Transportation services are provided at designated locations, to assist families in special circumstances. The families makes transport requests through their CCFS Headstart worker, the Family Service Associate or Specialist. The transportation services bids by Head Start safety rules and regulations, the Department of Motor Vehicles, the California Highway Patrol, and the school district.
